SHIFT: a better choice for a better ChES

"Status quo: The existing order of things; present customs, practices, and power relations." –dictionary.com

The Chemical Engineering Society epitomizes the greatness that any student organization not just in the Faculty but in the whole University can only think of. Its projects are characterized as fun, innovative, beneficial, and educational. Many student organizations envy the great stature that the ChES has become.

We were all welcomed by the Chemical Engineering Society to the Chemical Engineering family. The organization made sure that we were all taken care of as Chemical Engineering students should be. It started when we were freshmen and hopefully until we graduate.

But each year, as the number of my tenure in the faculty increases, I slowly visualize this thing called as Status quo. When we arrived in the Faculty, we were presented by existing order, existing practices and norms that no one else can defy. It is the norm. It is the one dictated by the organization to its constituents.

But as you linger deep inside the working ring of the organization you start to realize, does the organization really dictate the actions? Or is it someone else?

Every year it's a circle; A constant loop that has no capability of change; A circle that symbolize stagnancy which leaves no room for improvement and growth.

SHIFT is a STUDENT POLITICAL PARTY that heralds change for the betterment and improvement of the ChES. It was created to give choice to the Chemical Engineering Students and stop the stagnancy that has plagued the organization. It is a battle cry of the students who struggled to break the status quo, of the seemingly unheard of voice that is silently but surely is manipulating this STUDENT ORGANIZATION.

Join us! Join SHIFT to break the barriers of the status quo and initiate change in our beloved organization, the Chemical Engineering Society! Join us and feel the burning passion of the students who wants to have dominion over that silent voice that is taking control of the Society! Vote for SHIFT Straight!

Boys Night Out

Bihira kasing walang tao dun kaya super chance of a lifetime para makapaglaro sila. Actually seryoso sila.

Habang sila'y naglalaro sina Manong, Jebs and Juancho bumili ng soundcard. Ako naman after ng 1st game nila, nagparapara muna. Then uwian nah!

Wihihiih! Ang saya nila kasama talaga!

At Jeb's place

Engr. Jun Lozada and I

It is only this year that my sensory nerves were able to interpret the bitter taste of UST Student Politics. This is the 1st time that I was in the frontlines. The 1st time that I engaged in a political and electoral dispute. My first time to become a recognized political figure.

Just recently, I had a text war with a student-leader (I hate calling that person this because the person doesn't epitomize the description) regarding some posts here in my blog. Well quite honestly, up until now, I still haven't the grasped that person's rationale for picking a fight with me. I just wrote what i saw and I told the truth. Is speaking the truth a crime these days?

I very much emphatize now with Engr. Jun Lozada. In speaking the truth, his life was never been the same because of crooked politicians and money launderers' steps to intimidate him or discourage him. Although, I don't see this person as a politician, this person somehow did metaphorically what those politicians did to Engr. Lozada. In my case, I was called many negative adjectives some which I don't deserved to be called.

I will never take back what I said. I told the truth and no one can bend that fact. I will never be afraid to speak of the truth; For if I show cowardice to speak such words, I am not worthy to be called a Thomasian.

Let the Fire Burn more!

The results are out. Official stats are 3-6. 3 from SIKLAB, 6 from LIT-RESPECT. I can't say I'm not disappointed. Considering that we are expecting a sweep in the election. But, this is just a minor set back in our plans. This will not hold us back.

This is how politics work. You win some, you lose some. LTC may have won this year's battle, but the fire is still burning. I for one will keep the flame alive. The ashes of our scorned dreams shall ignite the Flame to burn much brighter and stronger! With the current political development on the verge of its dew point, there will be changes in the course of politics the following year. I'm sure of it!

We already partially fulfilled our second battle cry and hopefully it will be complete the following year. We had began phase 3 although it is not yet perfect, I believe that its effects will come in handy in the next elections. So fear not firelings! Our party's battle is not yet over!

Burn! SIKLAB! Burn!

UST Engg Reunion '84

Hindi ko malilimutan yung magiging Usher ko dun sa UST Engg Reunion nung last day of the Engg week.

500 pesosesoses!!! Ang galing! May food pah! At maraming bonus!

Wanted Murderer! Wahhahahah!

Tapos na ang election!

Photobucket

Hurray! Nakasurvive kame! Haaay! Last year hindi ako masyadong nagpakabibbo kaya hindi ako masyadong aware. Pero this year, involved na involved ako. Kaya maraming marami akong masasabi.

Eh it turns out hindi naman pala. May tarp sa may España gate as proof. Tapos pinatanggal yung paraphernalia dahil no campaign day dahil Engineering parade. Tapos pinapadikit nanaman kasi campaign day ulet the next day. Tapos tatanggalin kasi Engg week. Kamusta naman yan. Kabit-alis set-up ang nangyari samen this year. Nakakapagod yun at nakakastress. Naku, gawan nyo ng paraan yan na mabago yang ganyang set-up kundi you'll be hearing from us, especially me.

(Kaya I think CB, its time to amend.)

As verbal. Walang papeles whatsoever.

Discretion. Nasa discretion ni... As in yang word na yan, twing magtatanong kame sa Comelec lalabas ang word na yan. Discretion is a powerful word! Lahat pwede mong isagot dyan!

If they can't decide on matters affecting the election, anu pang silbi nila?

May this be a constructive criticism for the next COMELEC. Goodluck to the next COMELEC.

UST-ChE Profs

Photobucket

They all so cut eto look at!

Nakakastress sila eh.

Feb 19, 2009. 1st election day ng Engineering. Syempre, as a legal officer, alam na alam ko na bawal na yun because it is an election offense. Kahit tignan mo pa! Eto. SEC Article VI. Section 4-n. Failure to remove election paraphernalia a day before the no campaign day. This no campaign day is a day before the election. Oh diba, 2 days na silang nagvaviolate. I'm sure they are not ignorant of the law for they have been campaigning for years now.

Arm sila ng Central Comelec, it's their job to make sure na yung provisions in the SEC are followed. Nung nagfile naman kami ng complaint against the other party, wala rin naman daw silang magagawa kasi by the book 1st offense ay reprimand lang. Oh ayan by the book, when the offense is done on the last day (or after the allowed campaign period) hindi lang reprimand ang sanction nun. At by the book offense yun bat hindi kayo kumikilos.

I pray for a better Comelec next time. Yun bang passion to give service to the studentry eh kapantay nung mga political parties na nagpaparecognize sa kanila. Kasi kung sila mismo ignorant of their job or simpleng tinatamad lang, walang mangyayari saten parepareho. Our elections will be just as filthy, unlawful, and as incorrect as the Philippines.

Rockwell Hardness tester with Kirby's head on the side

Ayan so after nung talk ni Tatang Engineer eh pinakita niya samen yung actual na machine for that. At ayun nga yung Rockwell tester. Malalake. At! Binuksan nila! Nakakabigla na yung mga sumundo na pangayayari.

Basta may kinuha sila from the furnace then nilulubog nila sa oil.

SIKAT NAKO SHET!!!

Wow! Sikat nako sa political scene! Maraming nagbabasa ng blog ko! Sige speech muna ako! Para maacknowledge natin sila!

Good Day/Night,

1st to my friends in the Chemical Engineering family. Kaya natin to! Isang taon na lang! Walang Bibitaw! My BnBp Family, magparamdam naman kayo! Miz na miz ko na kayo noh! To my Tacos Family, na super busy sa kanilang mga acads im sure!

2nd to my partymates in SIKLAB party, I am very very proud of you guys especially our candidates! To the ALLIANCE, our central party, I know I am still unknown to most of you but I am declaring my total devotion thru each and every one of you for our University's political status sake. And of course to our new affiliates, SIBOL, SHIFT, EELAW, COMPILER, at yung isa pa na nakalimutan ko yung name, welcome to the burning passion family! Sigurado akong mag-eenjoy kayo dito!

3rd, a wave to "our" political enemies from the different affiliates of "the" party, ang saya neto! So enjoy nalang kayo dyan. Ang masasabi ko lang, walang epekto saken yung adjectives ok, so don't call me those. What you see is what you get. The University's trait is VERITAS. Naulit yan nung 1st year ako sa Engg because of my Values Education course (na tanging sa Engg lang meron).

Feeling ko tuloy I'm the newest Masajo in town!!!

Kaya more blogs pah!

Bawal eh, baka may faculty! Wahahahha!

Hihihihihi!
