Salamat!!!

Nakakatuwa na may mga tao palang aware sa Engineering that are able to make a comparison between the two parties and also between the past ESC Executive Boards, pre-SIKLAB and post SIKLAB foundation. To think that they have a strong stand regarding the issue, I am in awe of the words that they posted in their comments.

But despite that seemingly negative vibe, I still continued serving them in my own way in the Central Student Council and as an officer in SIKLAB party.

"If i’m not mistaken. Mas gumanda ang council nung dumating ang siklab. THE COUNCIL IS SHIT nung wala pa ung Siklab. hindi maganda ung performance ng Council. sana pag mag sasalita ka ayus ayusin mo ha. please. nakaka irita ka eh"

I love you kung sino ko man! You took the words out of my brain! Wihi!

I think that before you boast your accomplishment of being the author of current ESC Constitution, make sure that your accomplishment doesn't have flaws. If I would state all the errors both typographical and content, I'm sure I'll waste bags of time just typing it. How many times did you read it before you passed it to the studentry for a plebiscite? I was around when this was supposedly passed. I didn't sign it because honestly I don't even know what a plebiscite is back then. Surely there is a lapse in that project of yours. Those two persons that you loath are the 2 persons who trusted in me! Read the comments! Those persons defected from their respective parties because they think that something lacks! That is why they formed a BETTER party! With regards to the beauty issue, that is so plastic! Then tell me, why is it that for the 3 terms that SIKLAB is participating in the Local Elections, the opposing party has a female candidate for the presidency? As one of the comments pointed out, our candidate in terms of credentials was more eligible for the position! So don't talk rubbish of the strategy that your party has been using. Since your already graduated, Like I will in a year, stop meddling with the affairs of bonafide Engineering Students, in case you don't know, you're already an alumnus. All you can do is support you party financially and with the training of candidates.

Burning!

Once again, the facilities and supplies of our office is being used by a certain central political party. It saddens me because this is not a new issue anymore. I've blogged a number of entries raving about this kind of activity. I was even attacked through text as well as verbally by one of the their supporters if not their member.

Respect. I think that is the word that they should give "us". I wont talk to them directly anymore because they should know that it is improper. This is not their first time to be in a Student Council. They should have the integrity to know that it is unethical and can be considered as small time corruption. But as they say, big or small, it's still corruption.

It would be okay IF our office was comprised of ONLY that party. Dominated yes, completely no. I for one is a member of the party opposite theirs. Along with few other fine specimen. But seeing I'm the only one always present, clearly they are taking advantage.

Having meetings inside our office, talking about internal political affairs, printing of their documents, use of our computers and internet access for these political purpose... I'm the Legal officer of our party but I always rent a computer terminal everytime I write our legal papers and I think they should do the same. I can tolerate their Alumni coming to our office because after all, they were once part of the office but having a political caucus and talking about their future plans inside OUR office really gets my nerves.

Like I said in my previous posts, the Central Student Council should be a neutral ground. No politics should be involve for the betterment of student service. My fight is not in central but in our faculty. My loyalty is in our Local Party, SIKLAB, Samahan ng mga Inhinyerong Kumikilala sa Lakas ng Bawat isa. But being aware to this kind of activities I can never shut myself about it. After all, that office is not mine, but is also not THEIRS.

Now heed your words.

My Vote for President and Vice President

The people I'm going to vote for the positions above are...

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Manny Villar for President and Jojo Binay for Vice-president

Manny Villar
Iboboto ko sya kasi taga-Tondo sya, like me!

Kaloka.

ANUNG ALAM MO? At tignan mo sya ngayon!? Mas mayaman pa sya sayo! Kaya magtigil ka wala kang alam!

Sa issue naman na kinasangkutan nya dati. Hindi naman natuloy ung kaso so... what's the sense?

Jojo Binay
I would vote naman for Jojo Binay dahil for what he did sa Makati. You can do good things naman by being very firm yet humane. Tsaka he's a loyalist of the United Opposition kaya talaga naman botong boto nako sa kanya. I like what he did to Makati, and it's enough to secure a vote for me.

My Ondoy holocaust story

  • Happy Birthday Nior! Pano kaya ang celebration neto?
  • May pasok pa kaya?

Tapos nun, nagkaron ng CSC Advisory. Nabura ko na sya pero it's about Sec Gen na pinapasa yung prerogative to the Deans to suspend the classes in their respective Faculty/College. Ang masasabi ko lang dyan. Ang pangit. Ang pangit pangit. Mamaya kwekwento ko kung bakit.

After mga 1 hr siguro, dun dumating naman yung ESC Advsory na due to heavy rains classes are suspended... eklaverva. Pero I think that time mataas na yung tubig. Especially since UST is a flood prone area. 1 hr of continuous rain siguradong bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang bahang baha that time sa UST.

Here are pictures from a Thomasian Blogger:

Maswete rin kami dito sa Tondo dahil malapit kami sa Manila bay, madaling ng flush yung tubig baha in a matter of just hours.

You don't deserve to be called a Filipina!

Wow! So State of Calamity yung buong Pinas, so ibig sabihin may calamity funds na irerelease ang ating local and national government! Evil strikes when no one is around.

I pray for the Philippines in this time of calamity. Let us all unite to save one another in this time of need. I love the Philippines!

Party of Choice: Nacionalista Party

Siguro if I would be part of United Opposition ngayon, I would be part of the Nacionalista Party. I would not vote for him.

I mean yung REAL politics. (GEEK ALERT!) Gaga na naman ako! woohoo!!!

Inquistor: Miriam Defensor-Santiago

Baket ipilit mo yung nukha mo dun? Sinong nagsabing tuwang tuwa yung taong makita yung pagmumukha mo doon? -Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago

I laughed after hearing this line from Senator Santiago. We have the same sentiments regarding this issue. Her points are what's in my mind exactly. They are using public funds to have their faces pasted on these TV infomercials. If they are out of the category of using public funds, then they are simply pre-campaigning which is against the Omnibus Election Code. They were given up until the end of the month to pull out these infomercial or else charges will be filed against them in the Ombudsman. Here's the vid:

aborted ultimatum

JULY 04, 2009

ENGR. CECILIA ESPINOSA
Chemical Engineering Department Chair
Faculty of Engineering

Dear Engr. Espinosa,

Greetings in the name of St. Thomas Aquinas!

Our class, 5ChE-A, was informed yesterday that our Engineering Management course’s (GE302) schedule was moved from Saturday 10AM to 1PM, to Saturday 6PM to 9PM. We would like to express our reprehension towards this immediate change of schedule without prior consultation with our class. Also, we would like express our intention to petition the schedule of the said course to be moved on a more convenient time for the majority of the class members based on the following grounds:

  • Most of the class members who live in the provinces return to their domicile over the weekend. The current schedule shall impair this luxury, for they shall be forced to stay in school until 9PM every Saturday.
  • Half of the class is of female composition. There has been a case wherein a female member of the class has been harassed while going home one night. The addition of another night to the class schedule would mean another night of exposure to the danger of the streets to this female or to the female members in general.
  • We were given the liberty to choose our section during the pre-sectioning day prior to the start of the classes. We chose 5ChE-A as our section because the pre-made schedule for this section is the most convenient for our different activities whether social, extra-curricular, personal, etc.

In line with our petition, kindly consider the following as an alternative to the current schedule:

  • Every Tuesday and Wednesday, our class has straight 4-5 hrs inbetween breaks. It would be more convenient for us if GE302 will be moved in these time allotment.
  • Revert to the original schedule.

Attached herewith is the list of names and signatures of the class members.

We are seeking your kind approval of our petition. Thank You!

Respectfully yours,

MEMBERS OF THE 5ChE-A CLASS

This is the petition letter that I made in behalf of the class so as to change the current schedule of our Engineering Management course. I wasn’t around yesterday because of the Staff Application Interview of the Central Student Council, of which I am a committee director. I learned that the whole class signed the said petition letter and was ready to give it to the authorities. Unfortunately, something happened during the said course and the class ultimately decided to just accept the given schedule.

Student’s Rights
This is exactly the reason why the Magna Carta for Student Rights, more popularly known as the Students’ Code, should be ratified. I simply find what happened to our class unjust. This, and loads more that I have written before here in my blog. We were not consulted prior to the change. We were all shocked, especially me that I heard GA instead of GE, about the new schedule. If the Students’ Code is ratified, this shall give a pro-student approach. This shall give the chance to the students to participate in policy making decisions. I don’t know if the new CSC Administration will revise the Students’ Code. But what I do know is that the current draft to put it simply is students first. I believe in this statement very much considering that the students ARE the STAKEHOLDERS of the UNIVERSITY. If the Students’ Code was ratified as it should be, this incident would never have happened.

Wilberchie’s point of view
There was the 2nd semester. There was the summer break. There was the late start of classes. There was the 1st week of classes. There was the one week suspension of classes. I think that these are ample time to find a suitable instructor for the given pre-made schedule. More so, Engineering Management is a General Engineering course, hence the shortcut GE. This means that other departments are also offering the same course. Since this is a General subject for all majors, why not get someone not from our own department? Also, since section B is from 7-10AM, what’s wrong with our original schedule of 10AM-1PM? Honestly, the current schedule is impairing my social life. And it SUCKS! Big time!

Thank you to all my classmates who trusted my ability to draft this petition letter. Always remember that my loyalty will always be yours! I love you all! MwWAHAHHA!

SHIFT Party

I just heard the news, 3-9 ang stats. Naiiyak ako. Pero of all the people dapat ako ang pinakamatatag sa kanila. Ako ang Campaign Manager nila kaya kelangan ako ang takbuhan nila. Nakakalungkot, pero hindi pa tapos ang laban! Bagkus nagsisimula pa lang ito!

As I venture inside the realms of the ChE politics, I will not leave the Faculty without a fight. I'll make sure that I will plant the seeds of hope that will make the wheel of change turn.

ChES Candidates forum '09

PhotobucketI must say I am very very very very proud of the SHIFT candidates! Hindi sila nagpadaig sa kabilang party! All of them answered soooo good sa mga questions na binato sa kanila! Super super proud ako talaga! teary eyed nga ako nun kaya nagCR ako ng palihim. Ang galing galing nyong lahat! Lalong lalo na kay Dax Bigornia! Introvert kasi sya nung una ko syang nakilala. Pero ngayon tignan mo naman sya, super nagstep up para maging deserving of the post na tinatakbo nya! I am so much in awe and overwhelmed hindi ko sya maexpress dito sa blog ko. Manalo matalo man, kayo na ang winner saken kasi you are the best for me! Tandaan, hindi lang dito nagtatapos ito, we are all friends nah kaya walang iwanan to!

And I am so very very proud. I love you guys!

SHIFT: a better choice for a better ChES

"Status quo: The existing order of things; present customs, practices, and power relations." –dictionary.com

The Chemical Engineering Society epitomizes the greatness that any student organization not just in the Faculty but in the whole University can only think of. Its projects are characterized as fun, innovative, beneficial, and educational. Many student organizations envy the great stature that the ChES has become.

We were all welcomed by the Chemical Engineering Society to the Chemical Engineering family. The organization made sure that we were all taken care of as Chemical Engineering students should be. It started when we were freshmen and hopefully until we graduate.

But each year, as the number of my tenure in the faculty increases, I slowly visualize this thing called as Status quo. When we arrived in the Faculty, we were presented by existing order, existing practices and norms that no one else can defy. It is the norm. It is the one dictated by the organization to its constituents.

But as you linger deep inside the working ring of the organization you start to realize, does the organization really dictate the actions? Or is it someone else?

Every year it's a circle; A constant loop that has no capability of change; A circle that symbolize stagnancy which leaves no room for improvement and growth.

SHIFT is a STUDENT POLITICAL PARTY that heralds change for the betterment and improvement of the ChES. It was created to give choice to the Chemical Engineering Students and stop the stagnancy that has plagued the organization. It is a battle cry of the students who struggled to break the status quo, of the seemingly unheard of voice that is silently but surely is manipulating this STUDENT ORGANIZATION.

Join us! Join SHIFT to break the barriers of the status quo and initiate change in our beloved organization, the Chemical Engineering Society! Join us and feel the burning passion of the students who wants to have dominion over that silent voice that is taking control of the Society! Vote for SHIFT Straight!

Engr. Jun Lozada and I

It is only this year that my sensory nerves were able to interpret the bitter taste of UST Student Politics. This is the 1st time that I was in the frontlines. The 1st time that I engaged in a political and electoral dispute. My first time to become a recognized political figure.

Just recently, I had a text war with a student-leader (I hate calling that person this because the person doesn't epitomize the description) regarding some posts here in my blog. Well quite honestly, up until now, I still haven't the grasped that person's rationale for picking a fight with me. I just wrote what i saw and I told the truth. Is speaking the truth a crime these days?

I very much emphatize now with Engr. Jun Lozada. In speaking the truth, his life was never been the same because of crooked politicians and money launderers' steps to intimidate him or discourage him. Although, I don't see this person as a politician, this person somehow did metaphorically what those politicians did to Engr. Lozada. In my case, I was called many negative adjectives some which I don't deserved to be called.

I will never take back what I said. I told the truth and no one can bend that fact. I will never be afraid to speak of the truth; For if I show cowardice to speak such words, I am not worthy to be called a Thomasian.

Let the Fire Burn more!

The results are out. Official stats are 3-6. 3 from SIKLAB, 6 from LIT-RESPECT. I can't say I'm not disappointed. Considering that we are expecting a sweep in the election. But, this is just a minor set back in our plans. This will not hold us back.

This is how politics work. You win some, you lose some. LTC may have won this year's battle, but the fire is still burning. I for one will keep the flame alive. The ashes of our scorned dreams shall ignite the Flame to burn much brighter and stronger! With the current political development on the verge of its dew point, there will be changes in the course of politics the following year. I'm sure of it!

We already partially fulfilled our second battle cry and hopefully it will be complete the following year. We had began phase 3 although it is not yet perfect, I believe that its effects will come in handy in the next elections. So fear not firelings! Our party's battle is not yet over!

Burn! SIKLAB! Burn!

Tapos na ang election!

Hurray! Nakasurvive kame! Haaay! Last year hindi ako masyadong nagpakabibbo kaya hindi ako masyadong aware. Pero this year, involved na involved ako. Kaya maraming marami akong masasabi.

Eh it turns out hindi naman pala. May tarp sa may España gate as proof. Tapos pinatanggal yung paraphernalia dahil no campaign day dahil Engineering parade. Tapos pinapadikit nanaman kasi campaign day ulet the next day. Tapos tatanggalin kasi Engg week. Kamusta naman yan. Kabit-alis set-up ang nangyari samen this year. Nakakapagod yun at nakakastress. Naku, gawan nyo ng paraan yan na mabago yang ganyang set-up kundi you'll be hearing from us, especially me.

(Kaya I think CB, its time to amend.)

As verbal. Walang papeles whatsoever.

Discretion. Nasa discretion ni... As in yang word na yan, twing magtatanong kame sa Comelec lalabas ang word na yan. Discretion is a powerful word! Lahat pwede mong isagot dyan!

If they can't decide on matters affecting the election, anu pang silbi nila?

May this be a constructive criticism for the next COMELEC. Goodluck to the next COMELEC.

Nakakastress sila eh.

Feb 19, 2009. 1st election day ng Engineering. Syempre, as a legal officer, alam na alam ko na bawal na yun because it is an election offense. Kahit tignan mo pa! Eto. SEC Article VI. Section 4-n. Failure to remove election paraphernalia a day before the no campaign day. This no campaign day is a day before the election. Oh diba, 2 days na silang nagvaviolate. I'm sure they are not ignorant of the law for they have been campaigning for years now.

Arm sila ng Central Comelec, it's their job to make sure na yung provisions in the SEC are followed. Nung nagfile naman kami ng complaint against the other party, wala rin naman daw silang magagawa kasi by the book 1st offense ay reprimand lang. Oh ayan by the book, when the offense is done on the last day (or after the allowed campaign period) hindi lang reprimand ang sanction nun. At by the book offense yun bat hindi kayo kumikilos.

I pray for a better Comelec next time. Yun bang passion to give service to the studentry eh kapantay nung mga political parties na nagpaparecognize sa kanila. Kasi kung sila mismo ignorant of their job or simpleng tinatamad lang, walang mangyayari saten parepareho. Our elections will be just as filthy, unlawful, and as incorrect as the Philippines.

Central Politics

Tas wala pang nakalagay ng year kaya medyo usok usok ever. Ok fine, may fault nga dun si Monsour, but please don’t sensationalize the topic by having your affiliates here sa CSC office. Hindi dapat sa office nag-uusap about politics. It should be a neutral ground.

It is a fact na parang ginagawa nyo nang headquarters tong CSC at SOCC. Kasi I know for a fact na gumagawa kayo ng election paraphernalia dito sa mga offices. I decided to be mum about it kasi kaibigan ko ang mga tao dito. Pero don’t shorten my fuse. One formerly from COMELEC knows this too. Pero sa CSC, of which I am a part of, I will be detesting.

Nag-iinternet. Naglalaro. Ginagamit ang resources ng "gobyerno" for your own gain! Puro naman mayayaman yung members nyo, why not rent an apartment kung san pwede kayo magkumpol-kumpol at matapos na yang mga ELECTION PARAPHERNALIA nyo!

PI, Ayan ah!

I mean. Nababasa mo ba to PI? Yun nah!

Kagabi naman, I was downhearted kasi nalaman ko na walang ticket ang Alliance for the CSC elections. Akala ko pa naman this is the year for Alliance. Dahil we went through the repackaging and all. But still, hindi pa rin alam ng mga tao ang aming existence. Kaya may pag-asa pa. And then, nagtext ang Chair ng Alliance. It is a political move to strengthen kaming mga affiliates. So my premonition is that 2010 is the Golden year of the Alliance! Watch out! I'm burning in Passion!!!!
